Tip #1: Avoid getting your lashes wet for the first 24 hours

Moisturising your face is an essential part of your skincare routines. So you might feel a little alarmed to learn that you have to avoid moisture for 24 hours. Fortunately, your concerns are unfounded. You are free to wash your face after your lash lift and tint procedure; simply refrain from getting your lashes wet.

During the first 24 hours, your eyelashes are still susceptible to external elements, like water, as the solution used to shape your lashes requires time to set and harden. Any disturbance may weaken the solution’s bond, negating its effects. So avoid any and all moisture from touching your lashes – just for one day.

Tip #2: Refrain from rubbing your eyes

Like moisture, any disturbance to your eyelashes can cause the lashes to lose their shape, which is not something you want. This includes rubbing or scrubbing your eyes within the first 24 hours of your lash lift and tint procedure. So stay your hands whenever you have the urge to do so due to eye irritation. If you have a habit of rubbing your eyes upon waking up the next day, put an eye guard on during sleep.

Tip #3: Avoid sunlight

The effects of the tint will diminish when your eyelashes start growing out and the dye begins to fade. This usually happens 2 to 3 weeks after your lash lift and tint procedure. However, constant exposure to intense sunlight or UV light can cause the dye to fade even faster. Therefore, we recommend wearing sunglasses whenever you are outdoors. 

Tip #4: Avoid waterproof mascara and oil-based makeup

A benefit to getting a lash lift and tint procedure is the minimal maintenance required for your new voluminous lashes. Your lashes look so full that you don’t even need mascara. With that said, if you must apply mascara, you should wait at least 24 hours following your treatment. 

Additionally, we recommend avoiding waterproof mascara. Why you may ask? This is because with eye makeup comes makeup remover. And waterproof mascara is known to be more challenging to remove. The more you touch your lashes to remove your makeup, the more damage you cause them. 

This is also true for other eye makeup products. Therefore, you should always be cognisant of the eye makeup you use. Lastly, avoid oil-based makeup products since they can cause the tint to fade faster than expected.

Tip #5: Use a spoolie to brush your lashes daily

We have been talking about a list of things to avoid, but here is something you should do daily after your lash lift and tint procedure. When you wake up in the morning, use a spoolie to brush your lashes upwards to help with their formation. This is best done when your lashes are wet, so you can do this after taking a shower or washing your face. Naturally, you should only attempt this 24 hours after your treatment.
